Local footballers will be doing their bit for a good cause on Sunday, December 29.
The annual Twins With SMA Trophy match is to be held at Whitemoor Rec in Belper with the game kicking off at 11am.
The match is being organised by Shaun Bestwick and Ambergate FC’s manager David Kinder.
The teams taking part are the Belper All Stars and The George and Dragon.
This game, in the week between Christmas and New Year, has become a part of the footballing calendar in the town, raising money for local twins Alex and Sam Bolton.
They were born in 2005 with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a neuromuscular condition that causes a weakening of the muscles.
Last year’s game saw Belper All Stars beat an Ambergate XI 7-1 and over £350 was raised via the match, and from an event held after the game.
All are welcome to attend this year’s game and help raise money for such a good local cause. The after match entertainment and food will be at The George & Dragon from 1.30pm.
