South Normanton cruise to impressive away win

South Normanton enjoyed a thumping 6-1 win over Ellistown and Ibstock at the weekend.

It was a game to remember with the strike force of Lee Fell, Luke Crosby and impressive midfielder Craig Anderson all finding the target.

Ross Coxon, who impressive throughout down the right wing with many danerous runs and crosses, capped a fine display with a strike.

Chris Smith, back after a long lay off gave strength to the middle of the park, as Normanton pressed well in the first half.

They survived a scare when James Grouse hit the bar for the homeside.

It served to wake up the visitors and, on 38 minutes, a cross from a corner by Ross Coxon found Mark Stryenski who headed home from eight yards.

The second half started well for Normanton with a goal on 51 minutes after a great run by Ross Coxon found Craig Anderson, who hit a screamer into the top corner from 17 yard with a drilled shot,

Lee Fell put Normanton three up on 54 minutes with a low strike, before Luke Crosby scored with a penalty on 68 minutes.,

Coxon provided sub Josh Thompson with a goal on 70 minutees, before Fell rifled home from theedge of the box with eigt minutes to go.

Ellistown scored a consolation through Leon Aikman on the stroke of full-time.

South Normanton are at home to Radcliffe Olympic (3pm) next Saturday,
