Semi-final hit by farce

JACKSDALE MW caused something of a stir when defeating arch rivals CRIB FC by a surprisingly comfortable 3-0 victory margin in their Joe Lynam semi-final tie.

They should know by now who their opponents will be in Sunday’s final (2.00pm kick off at South Normanton FC) following the postponement, in bizarre circumstances, of the other semi-final that should have featured AMBER ATHLETIC and HAYLOFT: the goalposts at the Alfreton MW ground having been removed by the Amber Valley District Council beforehand.

The game was rescheduled to be played on Tuesday evening at a suitable, alternative location.

Amber Athletic were also out of luck the previous week when they were beaten 4-2 in extra time by HOLMEWOOD MW in the Out of Town Screen Bowl final; .

Jacksdale and Crib will lock horns again in the Dick Windle final on Friday evening (7.15pm kick off at South Normanton FC) when Crib will be looking to exact revenge for their earlier defeat.

Congratulations go to MARLPOOL WHITE LION who carried off the Division One title. AMBER ATHLETIC won Division Two whilst GALLOWS INN secured the third division crown.
