Selston marched into the next round of the Notts Senior Cup after a 5-1 home win over Linby.

Wayne Cooke broke the deadlock from 12 yards for the East Midlands Counties League home side after Ben Moore’s deflected 11th-minute shot fell kindly to him.

Five minutes later Perry Marriott netted from a corner to make it 2-0.

The tie was virtually over before half-time as Cooke struck again from Tom Widdowson’s pull-back after he chased on to a ball over the top.

A minute into the second half Tremere Lindo replied for Linby, but Selston immediately restored their three-goal advantage through Widdowson.

They completed the rout in the last minute as Lee Sutton won a free kick and then fired it into the top corner.
