Derbyshire Amateurs 4
Ripley Town 4
FOR the third league game in a row Ripley Town were involved in a high-scoring draw.
Following a 3-3 draw against Bargate the previous Saturday, Paul Lavender’s side followed up with two more high-scoring draws, throwing away match winning situations in both.
Last Wednesday night Ripley let slip a 3-0 lead to emerge with just a point from bottom-of-the-table Derbyshire Amateurs.
The Ripley goals came from Jay Harrison and Steve Bayliss who both hit a brace.
It was much the same story last Saturday as Ripley led 4-2 in the second half at second-from-bottom Pastures thanks to two goals from Joe Smith and one apiece from Jay Harrison and Steve Bayliss.
However, it was like groundhog day as the home side fought back to take a point from a 4-4 draw.
This week sees two home games against the top two sides.
Leaders Allestree were the visitors on Wednesday evening and second-placed Punjab United come to Nottingham Road on Saturday for a 3pm kick-off.
