Ripley Town continued their superb run of form by beating local rivals - and league leaders Ambergate 4-0 on Saturday.
The result takes Paul Lavender’s side joint top of the Midlands Regional Alliance Division One.
From the first whistle, Town set about their visitors with great energy.
Ambergate were down to ten men after just 15 minutes when a brilliant through ball from Will Dennis saw Sam Chambers brought down by the last man to deny a clear goal scoring opportunity.
Ripley’s opener came after half an hour when last week’s match winner Jordan Fahey turned in a great cross from Lewis Parkin from close range.
Half-time arrived with Town holding a slender 1-0 lead.
Ripley turned on the style after the break and went further ahead when midfielder Dan Riley neatly fired home from the edge of the penalty area.
Man of the match Will Dennis then added a classy third as Ripley Town threatened to run riot.
Debutant Frazer Kirk turned in a Dennis cross for number four to complete a stunning performance from a rejuvenated Ripley Town, who have gone from bottom of the league to top in seven weeks.
This Saturday, Ripley travel to Derby Rolls-Royce Reserves with the match due to kick off at 2pm.
