MRA Division One

Ripley Town 1

Little Eaton 1

RIPLEY Town’s late charge towards a promotion spot was further dented as they dropped two more points.

A week after going down 3-1 at Derby Singh Brothers, Ripley had to come from behind to glean a point against Little Eaton which means just one point from the last six on offer.

Neither goalkeeper was really tested in a first half of few chances, but the game livened up after the interval with the visitors taking the lead with a fine header.

Ripley looked in trouble but they rallied and began to press, missing several chances.

Kenny Birks fired over and Dan Cummings and Jay Harrison went close before Ross Layton scored for the second week running.

Ripley almost got a late winner, but had to settle for a point in the end.

This Saturday Ripley will be looking for a first league win in three games when they travel to Derbyshire Amateurs.

Kick-off is 3pm.
