Football fans can get their final fix of top quality Conference football before Christmas this Saturday as Alfreton Town take on Dartford at the Impact Arena.
Despite it being the final weekend before Santa arrives, the Reds are hopeful of a decent gate, having drastically reduced their prices for the fixture with free entry to the game for under 16s.
As with the Braintree home game a few weeks ago, which attracted a high percentage of new support, Alfreton have again reduced admission to £12 for adults aged between 22 and 64), concessions (65 and over) are down to £10, a young adult (aged 17 to 21) is just £5 and children under 16 can once again get in for free provided that they are accompanied by an adult.
The Reds will go into the game full of confidence after a superb 3-1 win at third-placed Kidderminster Harriers last Saturday, the win lifting Nicky Law’s side back up to sixth place.
A win on Saturday could push Alfreton back into the play-off places.
And the fixture will give the chance to see how far the Reds have progressed since suffering a 1-0 defeat in Kent on the opening day of the season back on August 10.
One player who will be missing for the Dartford home game is striker Job Ayo ‘John’ Akinde who sits the game out through suspension after picking up a fifth caution of the season in the win at Kidderminster.
The Darts are currently on a run of nine consecutive defeats in all competitions, including eight in the league and Alfreton will be looking to give the Reds fans some pre-Christmas cheer by extending the Kent side’s woes.
Boxing Day league action takes the Reds to Wrexham where they have already suffered a 3-1 FA Cup first round defeat this season.
Kick-off is 3pm and ATFC Supporters’ Association transport to Wrexham departs at 10am and seats can be booked by contacting Mark Thorpe on 07857 558401.
Saturday, December 28 sees Southport visit the Impact Arena and the discounted prices are also in place for this fixture.
It is hoped a bumper home crowd can help the Reds finish the year on a real high.
