Alfreton Town travel to take on Nuneaton on Saturday in the Blue Square Premier (3pm kick off).
The Reds’ scheduled game on Saturday, December 22, at home to Barrow fell foul of the wet weather sweeping the country.
And they were due to take on Mansfield Town at Field Mill on Boxing Day as the Ripley and Heanor News went to press.
The trip to Warwickshire will see the Reds take on a Nuneaton side currently sitting in the bottom four and then it’s back to the Impact Arena on New Year’s Day (1pm kick off) for the eagerly-awaited visit of the Stags for the second part of the festive local derby double-header.
Meanwhile, striker Tom Denton has left Alfreton Town and been transferred for an undisclosed fee to Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division side Worksop Town, where he recently spent a hugely successful loan spell, netting 11 goals in 11 appearances.
Former Huddersfield Town man Denton, who stands 6’5’’ tall, joined the Reds on a two-year contract in August, following a very successful trial period with the club in pre-season.
However, he was unable to land a regular first team shirt.
Finally, Alfreton’s Derbyshire Senior Cup third round tie against Buxton has been rearranged for January 15 (7.45pm). Only players eligible to play in the originally scheduled game on December 11 can play in the game on the new date.
