Rams’ keeper Ross joins Reds on loan

Alfreton Town Nicky Law has brought in goalkeeper Ross Atkins on a season-long loan from Derby County.

An England Under-18 and Under-19 international, Atkins is a product of the Derby County youth system and has made one first team appearance for the club.

The highly rated 23-year-old will continue to train full-time with the Rams.

He was on loan with League Two side Burton Albion for the entire 2011-12 season and for the first half of last season and has also previously had loan spells with Southport, Kidderminster Harriers and Tamworth.

Derby manager Nigel Clough has kindly agreed for Ross to play in this season’s FA Cup competition as well as FA Trophy and Derbyshire Senior Cup ties.
