New deal for Franklin at Reds

ALFRETON Town manager Nicky Law has received another huge boost to his plans for the 2013/14 season with highly-rated left-back Connor Franklin penning a new one-year contract to stay with the Reds.

A talented full-back who likes to get forward, Franklin, 25, was once again one of the most consistent performers for Alfreton last season as they claimed a highest ever league placing in securing a third successive Conference Premier Division campaign.

A former England C International, Franklin is now heading into his fourth season with the Reds having moved to the Impact Arena for an undisclosed four-figure fee from Hinckley United in August 2010.

Former Leicester City apprentice Franklin passed the one hundred appearances mark for the club last season and it is that sort of continuity throughout the majority of the squad which has paid major dividends for manager Law who has also been blessed with having several long-serving players at the club at the same time over the last six years.
