Heanor Town’s latest two pre-season friendlies have both resulted in 1-1 draws.

With the start of the season just under two weeks away now, the matches for Glen Clarence’s side continue to come thick and fast.

On Saturday, they were in action against AFC Mansfield and came away with a 1-1 draw thanks to a late equaliser from Sam Jones.

The same player was also on the scoresheet on Tuesday night in a 1-1 draw against Carlton Town, a game arranged at short notice to replace the scheduled match against FC Bolsover.

Tonight (Tuesday), the Lions make the trip to take on East Midlands Counties League new boys Kimberley Miners Welfare.

The match will get under way at 7.30pm.

Then, the final pre-season game takes place at the Town Ground on Wednesday, August 6 when Evo-Stik League Division One South side Mickleover Sports are the visitors.

The game kicks off at 7.30pm.

Mickleover Sports lost in last season’s play-off final to Belper Town and are managed by former Heanor Town managerial duo Glenn Kirkwood and Craig Hopkins.

The first game of the NCEL Premier Division season is on Tuesday, August 12, at home to Pickering Town (7.45pm).
