League looks competitive

OFFICIALS of the Midlands Regional Alliance Football League have been re-elected at the annual general meeting.

They will continue in their posts after being elected en bloc.

There have been a few changes to membership of clubs for the coming season with Long Eaton United Reserves, Belper United and Castle Donington Town having gone in search of success elsewhere.

This leaves the Premier Division looking very competitive, with Mickleover, RBL, Derby Royals and Matlock Sports joining the line-up, said a spokesman.

New to Division One this season will be Derby Singh Brothers, Rowsley 86 Reserves and Swanwick Pentrich Road Reserves.

Division Two will have 15 teams, with Allenton United Reserves, Chelleston Reserves, Mackworth St Francis and Newton joining the league.

The new season kicks off on August 6.
