Youngsters at Heanor Town Juniors FC will keep warm and dry this winter, thanks to a sponsorship deal with Taylor Wimpey East Midlands.

The housebuilder, which is currently building new homes at its Briars Chase development in nearby Ilkeston, has provided shower-proof jackets for the club’s Madrid U7s.

This is the second year that Taylor Wimpey has supported the club – which has teams through from U7 to U18 – having sponsored the U13’s kit.

Adrian Harris, Madrid U7s manager and club committee member said: “We’re very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their continued support.

“As a club we like to provide jackets for the kids to keep the outlay for parents to a minimum, however we’ve had quite a lot of expenses this year, so having sponsorship makes a massive difference to the club and the kids.

“As well as keeping the kids warm and dry, the jackets give them a real sense of belonging. They all wear them on their way home and more often than not someone will comment about them being part of the club.”

“It brings them on in leaps and bounds.”

Mariana Knight, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey added: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Heanor Town Juniors FC again.

“As a local housebuilder we are committed to supporting the communities in which we build our new homes and this is a great example of the way we can help local organisations.

“Local football clubs do a great job in fostering community spirit and we hope this season brings the club plenty of success!”
