Derby Mini Soccer League

Under 9’s Group 2

Codnor Boys 5

Mackworth St Francis 0

CODNOR recorded a comfortable victory over bottom of the table Mackworth at a very warm Racecourse.

Codnor continued their team policy of rotating the squad, and this week were without Bradley and goalkeeper Colby. Noah, Ben R and Ewan all took turns in goal.

After an even first ten minutes Codnor took control with four goals in ten minutes.

Captain James opened the scoring. Tanaka tapped in a corner and Noah scored twice, the second from a 20 yard free kick.

The second half was more even. Mackworth were awarded a penalty which was well saved by Noah.

Noah was then moved back out of goal and went on to complete his hat-trick.

All in all this was a good win and a clean sheet. Good performances all round with some of the newer players gaining in confidence.
