Heanor Town have added Ian Sharpe to the club’s commercial team.
Mr Shapre has made a name for himself fundraising successfully for Waingroves Primary School and also for various charities.
General Manager, Scott Ward, said: “He will start by working alongside current commercial manager, Ian Duffield, who has given notice that he will have to take a less active role within the club in 2015.
“The commercial team will be looking to improve the relationships with local businesses as the club aim to expand the current list of sponsors and partners. “He’s already busy working away planning an auction night for the club in February.”
Sharpe, who was ecstatic to be working as part of the team, said: “I’ve been watching Heanor since the time when they were in the Central Midlands League, when my nine year old son asked if he could come along.
“It was then that I realised how much of a family club Heanor Town FC is. I’m glad to be involved, I’ve been told I’ll be selling programmes at the gate and placing other fundraising around that, I can’t wait to get started.”
The forward-thinking club has also added Luke Thorpe onto their media team, where he will take on the role of video editor.
With the Heanor Town FC website being in the top 30 most viewed on the pitchero network over the last week it is vital that the club continue to explore ways to share the news.
It is through video highlights, called Town Ground TV, that Luke will be showcasing the club, getting over 150 views in less than 48 hours on the last production Heanor Town FC are glad to have him on board.
