Heanor hit the road in their early fixtures

Heanor Town completed their third pre-season friendly on Saturday at Clifton FC with a 2-2 draw.

The result follows on from the 1-1 draw at Heather St John’s with and the 5-2 away win at Real Utd last Tuesday.

They were due to play Arnold Town away on Tuesday night and have an attractive local friendly against Eastwood Town this Saturday at Coronation Park (kick off 3pm).

On Tuesday next week, they visit Swanwick Pentrich Road for a game kicking off at 7pm.

n Meanwhile, the Lions’ fixtures for the forthcoming season have been released.

Glen Clarence’s men could potentially start the campaign with eight away games in a row, in both cup and league.

Heanor kick off the season in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division with a trip to take on Maltby Main on August 10 (3pm kick off).

The following fixtures are:

August 14 - Athersley Recreation (a)

August 17 - Retford United (a) - FA Cup Extra Preliminary

August 24 - Nostell MW (a)

August 26 - Thackley (a)

August 31 - Worksop Parramore (a) - League

OR - Belper Town (a) FA Cup Preliminary

September 4 - Albion Sports (a)

September 7 - Anstey Nomads (a) - FA Vase 1st Qualifying Round

The first home match is on Wednesday, September 11, against Tadcaster Albion, with the first Saturday home game on September 14 against Retford United. (This is also the date for the FA Cup First Qualifying Round.
