Goals galore in opening game

Ripley Rangers Reds under sevens started the season against an organised and energetic Selston FC under sevens.

Ripley started slowly and struggled to keep the ball out their half, with Harrison Doyle and Tristan Asker defending well.

Then Lewis Wright made one of what was to be many bursts through the centre and showed some real strenth to bring Ripley to life.

There was an amazing display of strength and speed from player of the match Joseph Grey, who used both wings to gain yards and cut in with great confidence.

Selston kept coming and tested Ripley keeper Rory Brooker who made an amazing save from a very well struck shot from Selston.

Theo hallsworth battled hard and showed some great feet at both ends.

This was a thrilling start to the season with 15 goals being scored between the two teams.
