Ripley Rangers U11s 3

Ashover Aztecs U11s 1

Ripley Rangers U11s were hoping to continue their good run at Mill Hill in this game.

They game out of the blocks really strongly and a Regan McDonagh shot from the edge of the area was diverted into the path of Jack Hounslow, who gleefully tapped in the opening goal after two minutes.

yRangers went close again with the Ashover keeper saving full length from a Jack Wood shot.

Again, Rangers pressed and a Ben Hawkes shot was parried and Jack Hounslow pounced again to give himself an early brace after five minutes.

The game then opened up with both teams going close and a midfield battle ensued with Jake Maskell and Jack Wood putting in some tenacious work.

Just before half-time Ashover scored with a long-range effort which kept the game finely balanced 2-1 to Ripley Rangers.

The second half started and again the game was end-to-end with both teams going for the next goal.

Then a mazy run from Ben Hawkes saw him beat three defenders and cross for Dylan Goodhall to slot the ball home for the icing on the cake, making the final score 3-1.

Man of the Match was Ben Hawkes for an energetic display.
