Captain Nick Hall was the toast of Heanor Town’s annual end-of-season awards presentation.

For he carried off the two main awards -- for players’ player of the season and manager’s player of the season. The golden boot went to Kieran Debrouwer, while Greg Marriott was named supporters’ player of the year and Jay Cooper won the goal of the season accolade for his effort in the league cup against Stafford Town last September.

Players, officials, backroom staff and fans gathered for the event to reminisce on a successful campaign in which Heanor finished sixth in the Midland League, Premier Division, albeit some distance behind champions Hereford. Manager Glen Clarence thanked all those who helped to run the club, while special praise was heaped on the Lions’ tireless team of volunteers.

Special achievement awards went Ryan Seale (Keith Costello young player of the year) and Nathan Benger (Geoff Clarence chairman’s player of the year).

For the reserves, Jack Saxton was manager’s player of the year and Josh Waldram players’ player, with Elliott Reeves taking the golden boot honour. For the U18s, the winners were Charlie Petrovics (manager’s player), Joel Hardy (players’ player) and Jordan Conway (golden boot).
