Bardon Hill 1
Holbrook were looking for a positive response after their midweek reversal but, after 15 minutes, it looked like the inconsistencies of Wednesday might plague them again when Rob Tarry opened the scoring for Bardon.
It took ten minutes for Holbrook to respond with Sylvanus Bockarie releasing Simeon Oshoboke to crash a thunderous left foot shot into the roof of the net from 20 yards.
From the equaliser onwards, Holbrook dominated possession in very tricky conditions with the impressive Cameron Martin and man of the match Joshua Wright both going close as the first half closed.
After the restart Oshoboke added to his tally with a close range finish from an excellent delivery by the outstanding Joshua Wright, from there on in, it was all Holbrook and 15 minutes later Corrigan finished a flowing move with his first goal for the club. Holbrook had many chances to increase their lead through Williamson, Martin and Bowler, but the sticky conditions thwarted their goal bound efforts, and Holbrook comfortably closed the game out for their fifth league win in the last seven outings.
The management team’s Paul Romney said “After Wednesday night’s hiccup against Radford, we were looking for a response from the team, which they duly obliged.
“They showed tremendous character in difficult conditions and the scoreline could have been more emphatic than it was. Joshua Wright was a handful all game and gave us another dimension to our play.”
