Ripley Town got back to winning ways in emphatic fashion on Saturday, hammering hosts Punjab 6-0 in Division One of the Midlands Regional Alliance.
Paul Lavender’s side produced a fine performance that keeps the heat on at the top of the league.
Although Town are still without a few key players, they were always too strong for Punjab.
The lively Lewis Parkin and Sam Chambers ran the home side ragged throughout and Town swept into a 2-0 lead.
The first was a superbly taken finish from Will Dennis and centre half Ian Randall smacked home a second as Ripley took control.
Sam Chambers then scored a pair before missing the chance of a hat-trick by missing from the penalty spot. But further goals from Jordan Fahey and Eddie Johnson saw Ripley secure their biggest win of the season with an excellent all round performance.
This Saturday, Ripley have a tough home game against fellow promotion seekers Pastures (3pm kick off).
Ripley are currently third in the table, four points behind leaders Rowsley Reserves.
