Ripley Rangers under tens earned a hard-fought draw against MDC FC (Black) 1–1.
This was a game of few chances involving two evenly-matched sides. Ripley had the better of the early encounters with Luke Bradshaw, hitting a post following a Ripley corner and Ben Morris having his effort blocked by a combination of keeper and defender.
Ripley keeper Joe Timmons was forced into action in the last minute of the half, blocking well when the MDC striker found himself one-on-one. It was 0–0 at half time and when the breakthrough came it was MDC finishing well from a tight angle following a corner. Ripley’s reply was almost immediate, a well struck Morgan Boyle free kick was headed in off the bar by Brooklyn Bullock who then drove home the rebound to remove any doubt.
Ripley had more chances as the game ran to an end but they could not quite get the better of battling MDC side.
