Alfreton Town hoping to build on midweek success

ALFRETON Town are at home for the second home time in four days when Ebbsfleet United make the long trip from Kent to the Impact Arena.

The Reds will be hoping to build on the 2-1 victory over Barrow in midweek, a confidence-boosting first home league win of the season where they scored in open play for the first time in seven games stretching back 31 days. Indeed, it was the first time Nicky Law’s side had found the target more than once in any league game this season.

Manager Nicky Law welcomes central defender Leigh Franks back into his squad after a one-game suspension.

He is still without the injured duo Nathan Arnold and Anthony Wilson on top of which striker Drewe Broughton who sits out the second of a three-match suspension.

Ebbsfleet arrive for the fixture looking for a first win in five Blue Square Bet Premier Division outings.

With seven points from ten games, they are one place and one point behind the Reds and both sides will be anxious not to lose as they both sit in the bottom four.

Manager Liam Daish’s side won the 2010/11 Conference South play-off final to regain their place at the top table they lost the season before.

On their travels this season, Ebbsfleet have lost at Tamworth (1-0), picked up a good 1-1 draw at Stockport County, won 3-2 at Braintree Town, and shown plenty of character to come from two goals behind to gain a point in a 2-2 draw at Kidderminster Harriers before going down 2-0 at Cambridge United on Tuesday evening.
