Blue Square Bet Premier Division

Alfreton Town v Tamworth

Kick-off: 3pm.

FOR the last fixture of 2011, Alfreton Town are in Blue Square Bet Premier Division action when they welcome Tamworth to the Impact Arena on Boxing Day and the Reds will be hoping to end the year on a high note.

Manager Nicky Law has no suspension worries and has just Leigh Franks out through injury.

A third successive win on home soil could lift the Reds away from their second-from-bottom of the table place they have held for several weeks and would be a massive confidence booster for the remainder of the season.

Tamworth arrive for the game in 14th place in the table and less than a fortnight away from a trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton in the FA Cup third round on January 7.

Marcus Law’s side have 33 points from 23 league games only 12 of which have been gleaned from their travels with three wins, three draws and six defeats so far for points.

Goals have been in short supply away from home as well with only 11 scored and 18 conceded from their 12 games.

The wins have come against Bath City (2-0), Kettering Town (2-0) and Newport County (2-1).

The Lambs have drawn at Barrow (1-1) in the opening game of the campaign, Gateshead (1-1) and Southport (1-1).

Defeats have been tasted at Wrexham (0-3), Hayes & Yeading United (0-1), Braintree Town (1-3), Forest Green Rovers (1-3),

In their last outing, Tamworth had both Paul Green (17 mins) and sent off as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at home to Luton Town.

The Tamworth side was: Jonathan Hedge, Richard Tait, Sam Habergham, Duane Courtney, Francino Francis, Keiron St. Aimie (Danny Mills 68), Danny Thomas (Callum Reynolds, h/t), Kyle Patterson (Iyseden Christie 69), Paul Green (sent off 17), Scott Barrow, Patrick Kanyuka. Substitutes not used: Liam McDonald, Nabil Shariff.
