Derbyshire suffer more frustration as rains forced Yorkshire abandonment
It was the second time in three days that both counties had fallen victim to the weather after the T20 games at Trent Bridge and Edgbaston were rained off on Friday without a ball bowled.
The chances of the 50 overs contest going the distance always looked slim with heavy cloud and light rain delaying the start by 15 minutes after the Yorkshire Vikings had won the toss and put the Derbyshire Falcons into bat.

Hide AdBoth teams made one change with a stiff neck ruling out England all-rounder Adil Rashid while the Falcons brought in Will Davis for his one-day debut but his hopes of making an impact were dashed by a torrential downpour after Tim Bresnan had bowled a maiden to Ben Slater.
Although lunch was taken early, it was clear the outfield was not fit for the game to resume and it was no surprise when the umpires called the North Group match off at 12.50pm.
