Codnor CC 1sts and Riddings 1sts were in local derby action on Saturday in Division 4N of the Derbyshire County Cricket League.
Riddings won the toss and invited their visitors to bowl first.
They got off to a superb start, thanks to a substantial stand for the first wicket between Richard Fenn and Dean Whitmore, who scored 65 and 84 respectively.
When they were separated, Graham Hibbert picked up the baton in admirable style, scoring 56 and helping his to a good total of 264-5 from 46 overs.
For Codnor, Neil Sparham took three of the five Riddings wickets to fall.
In their reply, Codnor also got a decent start, thanks mainly to opener Jonathan Woolley, who scored 69.
There was good support from Lee Colledge with 24, and later on from Jack Henry Melbourne with 41 not out, but between their two knocks, a number of wickets fell, and in the end Codnor opted to settle for the draw, finishing on 216-8 in 46 overs.
Graham Hibbert took 4-51 for Riddings and Paul Fenn 2-49.
