Awards handed out as club looks back on 2012 campaign

Alfreton Cricket Club’s players have been looking back on the 2012 campaign at their recent end-of-season dinner and awards night.

It was a fantastic end to the season when the club raised more money for Myeloma UK as £73.23 was donated as the result of the walk a group of members took part in earlier on in the year.

The night started with a three course meal at the Boundary in South Normanton, before going on to the awards part of the night, followed by a spot of dancing.

There were junior awards to hand out, which included the inaugural u11s player of the year , which was handed to Ben Boys, before the attention moved towards the adults.

One of the most prestigious awards, the Herbert Bush award for help throughout the season towards the club, went to Colin Taylor and Karen Lancaster.

Other awards included: first team batting - Andy Gwatkin, bowling and fielding - Alex Mace; second team batting - Callum Spencer, bowling Adam Priestley, fielding Tom Bexton; third team batting - John Elliott, bowling - Colin Taylor, catching - Nick Clarke.

Young player award - Tom Pawelski; Martyn Lineker Award - Dan Robbins; under 12s award - Sam Pilkington; under 13s - James Aspinall and Tom Sheldon; under 15s - Ryan Bramwell and James Cook; President’s Award - Andy Gwatkin; Chairman’s Award - Matt Rooke
