ALFRETON Town have made their sixth signing of summer with the capture of 6’4’’ central defender Adie Hawes for an undisclosed fee from Eastwood Town.
Hawes, 24, joins the Reds on a full-time basis and has penned a two-year deal at the Impact Arena.
The giant defender began his career with Hucknall Town where he spent a season-and-a-half before moving up the road to help the Badgers to a fourth-placed finish in last season’s Blue Square Bet North division.
He has also had trials with Motherwell, Dagenham & Redbridge, Port Vale, Cardiff City and Bradford City.
Hawes explained his decision to move to Alfreton, saying: “I am looking to kick on with my career and progress. The opportunity was there at Eastwood but then got taken away. I see Alfreton as an up and coming club and one that can progress and help me as a player and as a person as well.”
