Division One
Pastures 2, Ripley Town FC 3
IN their first game for seven weeks, Ripley spiritedly overturned a two-goal deficit to record a fine away win.
Most people would have imagined that after such a long period without any games being
played, most of the Ripley first team would have been begging to get their boots on and get playing again.
Unfortunately, a handful of the first team were missing for the first game of the new year which meant numerous changes were made to the team that last lined up for Ripley some six weeks previous.
Luke Travis made his debut in goal for Ripley, albeit months after signing after a car accident hindered his playing capabilities at the start of the season.
New signings Danny Farmer and Luke Mason were also thrust straight into the starting line up.
After such a long time out both teams were rusty but Ripley appeared to get to grips better and used a surprisingly good pitch to their advantage.
Joz Walker saw plenty of the ball and he fed both of Town’s wingers regularly with pinpoint passes.
The first good chance came from a long ball from centre back Ian Randall.
