AS the third annual Stan Brewster Memorial tournament got under way, Holbrook St Michaels marked their debut in the competition with a fine win last Sunday.
The Saints handed out a 5-2 beating to the Derbyshire Police team at Police Headquarters in Ripley in the first of their group A fixtures.

Richard Briggs and Lee Colson notched a brace apiece with Jordan McRobie also on target for Holbrook, Wes Green and Brett Turner replied for the Police.

Saints are next in action on Thursday evening when they take on Swanwick Pentrich Road at the Charles Hill playing fields, Loscoe. Kick-off is 6.30pm.

In the other group A fixture last Sunday, Cotes Park had goalkeeper Phil Walthall to thank for their 2-1 win over Swanwick Pentrich Road.

In a very good game, Walthall produced a string of fine saves in the second period to keep Swanwick at bay.

Tom Baird had put Cotes Park ahead before Mike Bradley squandered the chance to double the lead when he missed from the penalty spot.
