Teversal (5pts) 165-6 (40 overs] (C Hewitt 67*) lost to Langley Mill Utd (17pts) 167-6 (39.2 overs] (J Salmons 37, D Hallsworth 31) by 4 wickets
LANGLEY Mill's mix of youngsters, old heads and those who should have hung up their boots years ago, held on to their lead at the top of the Mansfield Sunday League Section 6 after easing to victory at Teversal with four balls to spare.
Batting first, Teversal scored 165 for 6 from their 40 overs, thanks mainly to Carl Hewitt who hit an unbeaten 67.
Esward score 26, Andy Haughton 19 and Daran Hewitt 17 in an average score at this level.
The Millers used seven bowlers, the pick being Paul Leatherland, who came out of retirement yet again to pick up 2 for 9 from his 6 overs.
There were also wickets for Steve Walker, Ryan Cox, Alex Bacon and Dean Barton.
Langley Mill paced their reply nicely with Jamie Salmons (37) and David Hallsworth (31) adding useful runs early on. Bacon had another good knock of 24 and skipper Andrew Ball added 26 to take the Millers almost home.
It was left to the perennial Leatherland to add an unbeaten 18 to give the Millers 17 points that keeps them at the top of the pile.
