Heanor runners do the double

HEANOR'S Ben Radbourne and Jill Burke ran away with the mens and womens prizes at the Tara kinder 10k last Friday at Elvaston castle.
This race has raised over £22,000 over the years and this year Heanor were asked to nominate one of the beneficiaries, choosing Heanor Hospital League of Friends.

Whilst awaiting all times and positions for the race, In the mens race Heanor’s Ben Radbourne won in 33.20, Darren Ridout 5th, Steve Ashmore 7th, whilst Tony Weatherson, Stevie Wardle, Nigel Scollins, Tim Simpson all had respectable runs.

The women were led home by women’s winner Jill Burke, Jackie Hancock, Tracie Morris, Sam Shipley.

Next week see's Heanor RC host their annual five-mile road race and two-mile fun run at Shipley Hall Cricket Club from 7pm.
