THE championship decider resulted in a 3-2 away win for CRIB BAR as they snatched the title away from RAINBOW INTERNATIONAL by completing the double over their rivals in the space of three days.
Crib were hoping to complete another double by adding the Solar Press Cup to the league when they met up with SWANWICK GATE INN at Alfreton Town FC last Friday evening.
They looked to be on track when they led – somewhat fortuitously it must be sa
id – by a single goal at the interval; their opponents having created, and spurned, three gilt-edged opportunities.
However, the tide turned in the second half and Gate ran out deserved 2-1 winners to lift the trophy.
In Division 2, SHIRLAND MW concluded their programme with a comprehensive 5-1 midweek win over CORONATION CLUB who they leapfrogged to secure third place and put a marker down for honours next season.
The third division game between SOUTH NORMANTON WANDERERS and ASHFIELD BLUES was conceded by the visitors who were unable to raise a side; the 'win' saw Wanderers get out of the bottom two.
