Megan Campbell of Old Coppice Side, in Heanor, has been in touch with The News to complain about the poor state of a hedge on Stainsby Avenue in the town.
Mrs Campbell said: "I have to drive down Stainsby Avenue to get to work and it's a real problem.

"The hedge was cut earlier in the year but the people made a very poor job of it and now there are sharp sticks poking out into the road.

"It's not
a very wide road at the best of times and if you have to pass a car there now your car can get scratched.

"Derbyshire County Council did tell me it would review it and I have been to Ripley Town Hall a couple of times about it but so far nothing has been done.

"It was cut back last year and that was fine but this time it has not been done right.

"I want to try and get something done before the problem gets any worse."

The hedge borders the old grammar school playing field near Mundy School and is backed by a metal fence.

The News will be in touch with Derbyshire County Council this week in an attempt to get the work carried out to a better standard than last time.

An update to the Pit Lane problems we featured last week – The News contacted Derbyshire County Council and filed a report on the overgrown hedge and garden that is obstructing the road and causing problems for motorists.

The council has said that the hedge will now be inspected by one of their officers and we will keep you up to date with any further progress made.

We don't just do hedges – whether its fly-tipping and litter, glass in childrens' play areas, an accident blackspot which needs safety measures or even dog mess on the footpaths – we may be able to help.
