A RALLY against cuts to Derbyshire’s youth services is due to take place next week.
Campaigners are set to take placards to the Terrace at County Hall, Matlock, before the next full county council takes place on April 18.
The news comes as more than 14,000 people have now signed the petition to halt Tory plans to close 29 youth centres, putting 150 youth workers at risk of losing jobs. Among those affected is the Nite Train in Ironville, The Polygon Centre in Alfreton and Somercotes Youth Club.
Derbyshire Labour group has announced it is supporting the rally. Labour Cllr Anne Western is due to propose a motion at the meeting, asking the Tory bench to commit to a dialogue process with young people before any changes are introduced
