Woodbridge learns about water

Pupils at Woodbridge Junior School in Alfreton have been learning about the importance of saving water after a visit from water company Severn Trent.

The youngsters took part in an education programme over three weeks and won a prize draw of £500.

Edwina Woodland, Severn Trent’s education co-ordinator, who presented the cheque on Tuesday, April 8, said: “Many people don’t realise the importance of water conservation or know how to prevent sewer blockages. By teaching children about the water cycle at an early age, this is hopefully a lesson they’ll take with them through life, and then pass on to their children.”
