Weekend fires

Alfreton fire crews tackled a bonfire that was out of control in South Normanton on Sunday.

They were called out at 9.25pm to the incident on Victoria Street.

At 7.35pm on the same day they were called out to Glove Lane, Blackwell, where they used beaters and water back pack to put out a hedgerow fire.

At 10.10am they were called to a burning washing machine in an outbuilding on Inns Lane, South Wingfield.

They were joined by an appliance from Crich but the fire was out on arrival.

Fire crews in Heanor were called to a bin fire on Wilmot Street, early on Sunday morning.

One hose reel jet was used to put out the flames at around 5am.
