Wayne Madsen says Derbyshire CCC are determined to repay the faith shown by club members with success on the field in 2016.

The Derbyshire squad have been preparing for the new season since the start of November, with New Zealand duo Hamish Rutherford and Neil Broom set to join them upon conclusion of their domestic season in April.

A good number of Derbyshire supporters have once again backed the team by purchasing Memberships for the new season and Madsen is looking to give them on-field success to enjoy in 2016.

“We are determined to put in good performance and do well in all formats this year,” Madsen said.

“It’s time for us to stop talking about the future and start talking about now. We have the quality in the squad and it’s now up to us to go out and get the results.

“Everybody is now a year older, year wiser and more experienced. With the additions of Hamish and Neil, who have both been in great form back home, we have a squad which can compete on all forms.

“The support we receive from our Members is vital in helping us achieve our aims. We fully appreciate the time and effort they put in when they come down and show their support.”

Madsen added: “Rutherford and Broom will be joining up with us in April and we are really excited to see Hamish again and to get to know Neil.

“They will be coming here hopefully full of confidence after good domestic campaigns in New Zealand.

“We saw the explosive talent that Hamish has in the time he was with us last year, and I can’t wait to see him do it again this time around.

“Our two new bowlers, Carter and Milnes, meanwhile, have settled in really well; you would think they had been here for years. They will both bring new options to our side and I’m excited to see how they go this season.

“The countdown for the new season is now on and we hope we can give our Members plenty to shout about in 2016.”
