Warehouse blaze in Somercotes

CREWS from five fire stations were called to tackle a warehouse fire in Somercotes in the early hours of Friday morning.

The alarm was raised at 3.50am and crews from Alfreton, Ripley, Heanor, Chesterfield and Ashfield were called to a warehouse on Garnham Close.

The one-story building, which measures 80 metres by 100 metres, was well alight.

Crews used three jets to quell the blaze and the positive pressure fan was used to ventilate the building.

Firefighters left the scene at around 5.30am.
