The Midland Railway at Butterley held one its most successful events over the weekend of July 23 and 24. This was a diesel locomotive event that featured five visiting locomotives normally only seen on the main line, consisting of two class 37s two class 56s and one very popular class 31 (pictured). Trains were busy throughout the weekend with visitors riding behind and photographing them. Development officer Alan Calladine said: “We were very pleased with the turnout!”
