TWO spectacular gardens in Belper and Horsley Woodhouse are to open their gates on Sunday, August 7, in aid of charity.
As part of the National Gardens Scheme, the stunning gardens will be open to the public.
Between 2pm and 5pm, Alison Napier’s stunning hilltop garden at 9 Main Street, Horsley Woodhouse, will be open.
The garden overlooks glorious farmland and has terracing, borders, lawns and an abundance of colour. Features include a large pond, a bog garden and a small pool.
Entrance is £2.50 for adults, while it’s free for children. Cream teas will be available.
Also, Kathy Fairweather is opening her garden at 26 Windmill Rise in Belper, from 11.30am until 4.30pm.
It is an original and unusual plant lovers’ organic garden, with paths, seating areas and a restful atmosphere. The garden is divided into sections, including woodland, wildlife ponds and a running stream.
Entrance is £3 for adults, children enter for free. Homemade teas will be available.
