Parish councillors enjoy a work-out at Somercotes’ new outdoor gym.
The £15,000 equipment at the village park has been popular with parishioners since its installation late in August.
The rowing machines, presses and walkers, positioned close to the existing children’s play area were funded entirely from the parish council pot.
Chairman of the council, Paul smith, said the equipment can be used by young and old.
He added: “It has gone down particularly well so far.”
The decision to buy the equipment was made at the July parish council meeting, where members voted on what a £15,000 sum of the authority’s money should be spent on.
Cllr Smith said the idea for outdoor gym equipment came after discussions with villagers.
