A village has been busy planning summer celebrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Ashover has organised a day of festivities on June 4 in honour of Her Majesty’s 60th year on the throne.
It will feature a procession though the village, which will be decorated with flags and bunting.
Locals will be asked to dust dig out their 1950s glad-rags and decorate their bicycles and push-chairs.
The organisers are appealing for photographs, newspaper cuttings and other memorabilia relating to the 1950s to be used in a Jubilee display. Anyone interested in helping is urged to contact David and Molly on 01246 590796 or Rosemary 01246 590738.
