A “really special” dog is desperately looking for a new home after he went into the care of the RSPCA in Chesterfield.

Rolo, the jack russell terrier, has been labelled a “sweet heart” by the animal care team at the Spital Lane branch.

Gary Taylor, animal care manager, described the six-year-old pup as “uncommon sweetness”.

He said: “There’s nothing he loves more than curling up on your lap as you watch TV or read a book, or finding a fold in your quilt to settle into and snore his little head off long into the night.

“People who can offer him a nice, quiet home will find one of the most laid back dogs they have ever come across.”
