Two new mugs have been designed for Alfreton and District Heritage Trust.

Hot from the kiln at David’s Pottery Studio, Wycliffe Road, Alfreton, are the hand-crafted stoneware mugs.

There is a Diamond Jubilee mug, with 1952-EIIR-2012 on the front. On the other side is the unofficial coat of arms of Alfreton in red, three lions passant, as featured through the years on Gosse china, and, more recently, on the Heritage Trust’s Golden Jubilee Mug.

The second mug is for those who enjoy the Alfreton vernacular. It has the words ‘Ay Up Ofton’, and should raise a smile among Alfretonians at home and abroad.

The mugs are on sale at Alfreton Heritage Centre, Cemetery Chapel, on Rodgers Lane for £10 each or £18 for two. It is open every Sunday from 2pm to 4pm. Or phone 01773 832 349.
