Children and staff have marked more than a decade of fun and games at a village toy library.

Crich Toy library celebrated its 11th birthday with a huge chocolate cake for all to share this month.

The library is now expanding and will also be taking over the running and management of Belper Toy Library.

The charity aims to make toys available to children across the region.

Toy library manager Ann-Marie McMillan said: “Everyone had a fabulous time. It’s a fantastic landmark for the library and we’ve been going from strength to strength.

The party was also an opportunity to say goodbye and thankyou to outgoing stay and play co-ordinator Cindi Blunt and to say hello to Vivki Wilding, who will be replacing her in the role.

The library’s database of toys can be viewed and booked online by visiting www.crichtoylibrary.org.uk.

Ann-Marie said it was also looking for volunteers to help out with a variety of tasks including maintaining toys and preparing healthy snacks for the children.
