Thief’s Xmas greeting

a THIEF wished his victim a Merry Christmas before stealing a bag full of presents from his car.

The incident happened on Devonshire Drive, in Leabrooks, on Sunday, at around 8.30pm.

A man had gone back inside his house while he waited for his car to defrost, having left a plastic bag containing Christmas presents on the passenger seat.

He returned to the car to find a man reaching in through the passenger door and grabbing the bag.

The thief wished the man “Merry Christmas” before running off down Hathersage Drive. The man gave chase but the thief was too fast and got away.

The thief was described as 5ft 6ins tall, of stocky build and wearing a dark grey hooded top.
