1. Beside The Seaside, Crich Tramway Village

The Village will be transformed into a family-themed seaside resort with beach area, fun fair and traditional entertainment.

Children will be amazed by Professor Jon’s ‘Flea’ Circus, Punch and Judy shows and Scoop Magician.

Crich Brass Band will also attend some days to add music to the event.

2. Elton John, The 3aaa County Ground, Derby

Elton plays his first show in the city for 28 years.
Fans attending this outdoor show can expect to hear from Elton’s extensive back catalogue.. His hits include Rocket Man, Candle in the Wind, Saturday Night’s All Right For Fighting and Crocodile Rock.

3. Spring Bank Holiday at Matlock Farm Park

4. Spital Spectacular Arts Fair, St Leonard’s Church, Spital, Chesterfield,

Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3

Photograhy, calligraphy, artwork, jewellery, a weaver, a potter and a wood turner will have their work on view at this fifth annual celebration of arts and crafts.

5. Woodland Explorer Trail at Ilam Park

Until June 4

There is no need to book for this fun self-guided trail around Ilam Park. Taking about an hour to complete it is suitable for chidlren aged four to 11 years and dogs on leads are welcome.

6. Matlock Storytelling Cafe, Imperial Rooms

Brazilian storyteller Ana Maria Lines will share her tales of The Princes of Destiny. The story that is about to happen has already happened to those from years gone by. Meet the princes, warriors and gods of your past and future.

7. Wild art at Kedleston Hall

8. Aynsley Lister, MFN, Shipley Gate, near Ilkeston

Saturday, June 3

The guitar ace will headline a blues festival at the venue. Aynsley has been playing the blues since the tender age of eight and has spent the last 20-odd years touring the UK and Europe, headlining huge festivals and opening for luminaries such as Bryan Adams, Buddy Guy, John Mayall and many more.

Currently promoting his latest album Eyes Wide Open on a tour encompassing the UK, Europe and the Playing With Fire Festival in Omaha, USA, Aynsley Lister is an act not to be missed if you love the blues.

Also on the bill are Jersy Budd and Blacktop DeLuxe. Tickets are just £12 advance and are expected to sell out. Free camping is thrown in with price and the gig is open to all ages.

9. 50 Things Trail, Sudbury Hall and the National Trust Museum of Childhood

Pick up a ‘50 things to do before you are 11’ booklet and see what things you can tick off at Sudbury. No booking is needed and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
