THE CAST of All Shook Up donned their blue suede shoes this week for an Elvis-inspired musical.
Heanor Operatic Society staged the successful production at Heanor Gate Science College to a sellout audience.
The show, directed by Sharon Cooper, featured a plethora of the first king of pop’s favourite songs, set to a love story about a small town girl who falls for a motorbike riding stud.
Chairman of the society, Janet Newton, said the week of shows at Heanor Gate Science College on Kirkley Drive, were a sell-out success.
She said: “The audience seemed to really enjoy it. It’s a nice, lovely show with that feelgood factor.
Elvis is definitely quite popular in this area.”
It is the first production Heanor Operatic Society have performed since it was rocked by a fraud investigation last year. A total of £8,000 was embezzled by a former treasurer, which threatened to shut the society down.
The society’s youth theatre company is set to perform the play Seussical in June.
